Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Steak

Remove the Tomahawk steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for at least 1 hour before cooking. This helps the steak cook more evenly.

2

Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the steak with kosher salt and black pepper. Use your hands to press the seasoning into the meat.

3

Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (around 450-500°F or 232-260°C). If using a charcoal grill, prepare the coals until they are glowing and covered with ash.

4

Sear the Steak

Drizzle olive oil over the steak and place it on the grill. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, creating a lovely crust.

5

Add Aromatics

During the last minute of grilling, add crushed garlic cloves, fresh rosemary, and butter to the grill. Baste the steak with the melted butter and aromatics for additional flavor.

6

Check Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, aim for 130-135°F (54-57°C). Adjust grilling time according to your desired doneness.

7

Rest the Steak

Once the steak reaches your desired doneness, remove it from the grill and let it rest for at least 10-15 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

8

Serve

Slice the Tomahawk steak against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
