Add brighteners
To the shaker with the spirits, add 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice and 0.25 oz simple syrup. These provide balance and a clean citric lift to the white-themed cocktail.
Brightener & Aromatic
- 3
Add floral and bitter notes
Add 0.5 oz elderflower liqueur, 0.25 oz dry curaçao (or other orange liqueur), and 2 dashes of orange bitters to the shaker. These create a layered, slightly sweet-floral aroma while keeping the cocktail bright and delicate.

Wet shake
After the dry shake (or immediately if not using egg white), add a generous handful of ice to the shaker. Shake hard for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is very cold outside and the liquid is well chilled.

Optional top
If you prefer a slight effervescence, briefly top the finished cocktail with about 1 oz club soda after straining.
Serve & Garnish

Dump the ice from the chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer to remove small ice shards and any solids. If you added club soda, pour it gently down the inside of the glass to preserve the foam. Express a lemon twist over the surface to release oils, run it around the rim, and drop it into the drink. Optionally finish with an edible flower or a dehydrated lemon wheel for a Sonnhof Social Club aesthetic.
