Method
Preparation
Prepare the Edamame
Rinse the edamame pods under cold water to remove any dirt or debris.
Boil Water
In a medium-sized pot, bring 1 cup of water to a boil over high heat.
Steam the Edamame
Once the water is boiling, place a steamer basket over the pot, ensuring that the water does not touch the edamame. Add the rinsed edamame pods to the steamer basket and cover with a lid.
Cook the Edamame
Steam the edamame for about 5-6 minutes, or until the pods are bright green and tender.
Season and Serve
Remove the edamame from the steamer and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of salt. Toss to coat evenly. Serve warm, allowing guests to pop the beans from the pods into their mouths.
