Method

Meatballs Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, approximately 2 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.

Marinara Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Stir in crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 6

    Finish with Basil

Remove the sauce from heat and stir in chopped fresh basil.

Pasta Cooking

  1. 7

    Cook Spaghetti

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Combine Everything

In a large serving dish, combine the cooked spaghetti, marinara sauce, and baked meatballs. Toss gently to combine.

  2. 9

    Add Topping

Sprinkle the remaining grated Parmesan cheese over the top before serving.

  3. 10

    Serve

Serve hot with additional basil or parsley for garnish if desired.
