Cooking Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water.

Cook Spaghetti
Once the water is boiling, add 400 grams of spaghetti. Cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Making Bolognese Sauce

Sauté Vegetables
In a large skillet or saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add 1 finely chopped onion, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 finely chopped carrot, and 1 finely chopped celery stalk. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are soft.

Brown the Meat
Add 500 grams of ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon.

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in 400 grams of crushed tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. If using, add 100 ml of red wine.

Simmer the Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
Garnishing and Serving

Combine and Serve
Toss the cooked spaghetti with the Bolognese sauce until well combined. Serve hot, garnished with 50 grams of grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
