Large Pepperoni Pizza

Classic Cheeseburgers (makes 4)

Method

Large Pepperoni Pizza

  1. 1

    Preheat and prepare crust

Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats. Lightly dust a pizza peel or baking sheet with cornmeal. Stretch or roll the pizza dough into a roughly 12–14-inch round on a lightly floured surface.

  2. 2

    Assemble pizza

Brush the edges of the dough with 1 tablespoon olive oil to promote browning. Spread 1 cup pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border for the crust. Sprinkle 2 cups shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce. Arrange ~40 slices of pepperoni across the cheese in a single layer. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon dried oregano over the top.

  3. 3

    Bake

Transfer pizza to the preheated stone or baking sheet and bake 10–12 minutes, rotating halfway, until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling and slightly browned. If using a home oven and a pizza stone, the pizza may finish in 8–10 minutes depending on heat.

  4. 4

    Finish and serve

Remove pizza from oven, let rest 2 minutes, slice, and serve hot alongside fries or wings.

Classic Cheeseburgers (makes 4)

  1. 5

    Form patties

Divide 1.25 lbs ground beef into 4 equal portions (about 5 oz each). Gently form into patties about 3/4-inch thick and slightly wider than the buns (they will shrink while cooking). Season both sides of each patty with 1 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp black pepper, dividing evenly.

  2. 6

    Toast buns

Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Brush cut sides of 4 burger buns with a little vegetable oil. Toast, cut-side down, 1–2 minutes until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.

  3. 7

    Cook patties

Increase heat to medium-high. Add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to the pan. Cook patties 3–4 minutes on the first side without pressing. Flip and cook 2–3 minutes more for medium, placing a cheddar slice on each patty during the last minute to melt. Adjust time for desired doneness (longer for well-done).

  4. 8

    Assemble burgers

Place lettuce leaf on bottom bun, then patty with melted cheese, 1–2 tomato slices, and 2–3 red onion slices. Spread ketchup and mayonnaise on top bun (use the 1/4 cup each combined as desired). Add pickles if using. Serve immediately with fries and pizza slices for a shared game-day spread.

Buffalo Chicken Wings (serves 4)

  1. 9

    Dry and coat wings

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) if baking, or heat oil to 350°F (175°C) if frying. Pat 2 lbs chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss wings with 1 tablespoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper until evenly coated. Baking powder helps crisp the skin in the oven.

  2. 10

    Cook wings (oven method)

If baking: arrange wings on a wire rack set over a rimmed baking sheet in a single layer. Bake 35–45 minutes, flipping once halfway, until skin is deep golden and crisp.

  3. 11

    Cook wings (frying method)

If frying: fry wings in batches at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes until golden and cooked through. Drain on a paper towel-lined sheet.

  4. 12

    Make buffalo sauce

While wings cook, melt 4 tablespoons unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add 1/2 cup hot sauce and 1 tablespoon honey (if using). Whisk until combined and warmed through; do not boil. Remove from heat.

  5. 13

    Toss wings in sauce

Place cooked wings in a large mixing bowl. Pour the warm buffalo sauce over the wings and toss vigorously to coat evenly. If you prefer a lighter coating, reserve some sauce for dipping.

  6. 14

    Serve

Transfer wings to a serving platter with celery sticks and 1/2 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.

Game-Day Sides & Extras

  1. 15

    Cook fries

Prepare 1 lb frozen french fries according to package directions (oven or air-fryer recommended). For oven: bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway, until crisp.

  2. 16

    Finish fries

Immediately after cooking, toss fries with 1 teaspoon garlic powder and 2 tablespoons grated parmesan (optional) for garlic-parmesan fries. Serve hot with burgers, pizza, and wings.
