In a large kettle, heat 20 liters of water to around 70°C (158°F). Add the malted barley to the hot water and stir well to prevent clumping. Let it rest for about 60 minutes.

Prepare the Mash

After the mash has rested, drain the liquid (wort) and rinse the grains with additional hot water to extract as much sugar as possible.

Sparging

Bring the wort to a boil and add the hops. Boil for 60 minutes, adding more hops at 15 and 5 minutes before the end of the boil for added flavor and aroma.

Boil the Wort

After boiling, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches about 20°C (68°F).

Cooling the Wort

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel and add the yeast. Seal the vessel with an airlock and let it ferment in a cool, dark place for about 1 to 2 weeks.

Fermentation

Once fermentation is complete, dissolve the priming sugar in a small amount of boiling water and add it to the beer. Bottle the beer and cap each bottle. Let it condition for another 1 to 2 weeks.

Chill the bottles in the refrigerator and enjoy your homemade beer!
