Cake Preparation

1

Prepare the Cake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and vanilla. Gradually combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Pour batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

2

Make the Tres Leches Mixture

In a bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk. Once the cake has cooled, poke holes all over the cake with a fork and pour the milk mixture evenly over the cake. Let it soak for at least 1 hour.

Whipped Cream Topping

3

Prepare the Whipped Cream

In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Spread the whipped cream over the soaked cake.

Candied Orange

4

Prepare the Candied Orange

Slice the orange thinly. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat. Once dissolved, add orange slices and simmer for 30 minutes until translucent. Let cool on a wire rack.
