This hazy beer may be considered a New England IPA, but its inspiration is pure Philly. Brewed with flaked oats and wheat, this beer features tropical fruit and resinous pine notes almost as intense as your passion for the home team. Whether you’re cracking one open at a tailgate or in your living room, you can just taste the brotherly love.

Heat 3.5 gallons of water to 165°F (74°C) and add the crushed pale malt, flaked oats, and wheat malt. Maintain the temperature at 152°F (67°C) for 60 minutes.

Mashing

After mashing, sparge the grains with 2.5 gallons of water at 170°F (77°C) to collect around 6 gallons of wort.

Sparging

Bring the wort to a boil. Add Citra hops at the beginning of the boil, Mosaic hops at the 15-minute mark, and Simcoe hops with 5 minutes left in the boil. Boil for a total of 60 minutes.

Boiling

Cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches around 70°F (21°C).

Cooling

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermenter and pitch the yeast. Seal with an airlock and ferment at 68-72°F (20-22°C) for about 1-2 weeks.

Fermentation

Once fermentation is complete, dissolve the priming sugar in a small amount of water, boil, and cool. Add it to the beer before bottling to carbonate. Bottle the beer and let it condition for 1-2 weeks.
