Beef Brisket

Method

Dry Rubbed Beef Brisket

1

Prepare the Dry Rub

In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper until well combined.

2

Season the Brisket

Rub the dry rub mixture generously over the entire surface of the beef brisket. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

3

Cook the Brisket

Preheat your smoker or oven to 225°F (107°C). Place the brisket in the smoker or oven, and cook for about 1.5 hours per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).

4

Rest and Slice

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the heat and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing against the grain.
