Preparation and Cooking

1. Prepare the Potatoes

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Wash and cut the russet potatoes into thick steak fries. In a large bowl, toss the fries with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and paprika until evenly coated.

2. Bake the Fries

Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

3. Make the Gravy

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 2 minutes to create a roux. Gradually whisk in the beef broth until smooth. Add Worcestershire sauce and simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Assemble the Dish

Once the fries are done, place them on a serving platter. Pour the homemade gravy over the fries and sprinkle the grated farmhouse cheddar cheese on top. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
