Cocktail
Garnish & Rim
Method
Prepare Glass
- 1
Run the lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass. Dip the rim into coarse salt or tajín to coat. Set glass aside.
Make Cocktail
- 2
Muddle jalapeño
In a cocktail shaker, add 3 jalapeño slices. Muddle gently 6–8 times to release aromatics and some heat. If you prefer milder spice, remove seeds before muddling or use only 1–2 slices.
- 3
Add liquids
Add 2 oz Lunazul tequila, 2 oz fresh mango purée, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz agave syrup into the shaker with the muddled jalapeño.
- 4
Shake with ice
Add about 1 cup of ice to the shaker. Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is cold and well-chilled.
- 5
Double strain
Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice (or neat in a chilled coupe) using the shaker strainer and a fine mesh strainer to catch jalapeño solids and pulp for a smooth drink.
- 6
Top (optional)
If desired, top the cocktail with 1 oz club soda for a lighter, slightly effervescent finish. Gently stir once to combine.
Garnish
- 7
Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim and a thin mango slice laid across the rim or floated on top. Serve immediately.
