Classic Diet Coke (single serving)

Pitcher / Party Batch (approx. 8 servings)

Method

Classic Diet Coke (single serving)

  1. 1

    Chill and prepare

Ensure the can or bottle of Diet Coke has been chilled in the refrigerator for at least 1–2 hours for best refreshment. Prepare a highball or Collins glass and have ice ready.

  2. 2

    Fill glass with ice

Place 6 ice cubes into your glass. Adjust quantity to preference; use more ice for a colder, more diluted drink or less ice to preserve carbonation and temperature.

  3. 3

    Pour Diet Coke

Hold the can or bottle at a slight angle and pour Diet Coke gently down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation and reduce frothing. Pour approximately 12 fl oz (a standard can) into the ice-filled glass.

  4. 4

    Garnish and serve

If desired, squeeze a lime wedge over the surface and drop it in, or lightly slap a mint sprig between your palms to release aroma and add it to the glass. Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer.

Pitcher / Party Batch (approx. 8 servings)

  1. 5

    Chill and prepare pitcher

Chill the bottles/cans and the pitcher in the refrigerator ahead of time if possible. Use a clear pitcher to showcase garnishes. Keep extra Diet Coke chilled for refills.

  2. 6

    Add ice and garnishes

Place a large ice block or 8 cups of ice into the pitcher to keep the drink cold without quickly diluting it. Add 8 lime slices and 8 mint sprigs if using; gently press mint leaves against the side of the pitcher to release aroma.

  3. 7

    Pour Diet Coke into pitcher

Slowly pour 96 fl oz of chilled Diet Coke into the pitcher down the side to minimize foam. If using individual bottles/cans, pour them one at a time and pause briefly between pours to let foam settle.

  4. 8

    Serve

Ladle or pour Diet Coke into glasses filled with ice (about 12 fl oz per glass). Add an optional lime wedge or additional mint to each glass. Keep extra chilled Diet Coke nearby for quick refills.
