Preparation Steps

1

Prepare the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, rice flour, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.

2

Add Onions

Add the thinly sliced onions to the prepared batter and mix until the onions are well coated.

3

Adjust Consistency

Gradually add water to the mixture, stirring until you achieve a thick, batter-like consistency.

4

Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat enough oil for deep frying over medium heat.

5

Fry the Pakoras

Once the oil is hot, drop spoonfuls of the onion batter into the oil. Fry in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.

6

Drain and Serve

Remove the pakoras from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
