Directions
- 1
Prepare the cheese
Take the mozzarella cheese sticks out of the packaging and place them on a plate. Freeze the cheese sticks for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape during frying.
- 2
Set up the breading station
In three shallow dishes, prepare the breading station: In the first dish, add the all-purpose flour. In the second dish, beat the eggs. In the third dish, mix the breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Bread the cheese sticks
Remove the frozen mozzarella sticks from the freezer. Dredge each cheese stick in flour, making sure to coat evenly. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll the cheese stick in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere. Repeat for all cheese sticks.
- 4
Heat the oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping in a small piece of bread; if it sizzles and bubbles, the oil is ready.
- 5
Fry the mozzarella sticks
Carefully place a few breaded mozzarella sticks into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and let them drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Serve the mozzarella sticks hot with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
