Lasagna Ingredients
Method
Lasagna Directions
Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic, sauté until fragrant. Add ground beef, season with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned. Pour in the marinara sauce, stir, and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
Prepare the Cheese Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Cook the Noodles
Boil the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and lay them flat on a clean surface.
Assemble the Lasagna
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Place a layer of noodles over the sauce, then add a layer of the ricotta mixture, followed by mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers (meat sauce, noodles, ricotta, mozzarella) until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of meat sauce and topping it with Parmesan cheese.
Bake the Lasagna
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
Serve
Let the lasagna cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil and serve.
