Classic Mojito Base

Citrus Garnish

Optional Fruit Flavors (add $1)

Method

Classic Mojito Base

1

Prepare glass

Place 10 fresh mint leaves in a sturdy highball glass. Add 2 tsp granulated sugar and 1 oz fresh lime juice.

2

Gently muddle the mint, sugar, and lime juice together just enough to release the mint's oils. Avoid shredding the leaves — you want aromatic oil, not bitterness.

3

Add 2 oz white rum to the glass and lightly stir to dissolve any remaining sugar into the liquid.

4

Fill the glass about three-quarters full with crushed ice (≈1 cup). Stir briefly to chill and combine ingredients.

5

Top with approximately 3 oz club soda, gently fold once to integrate without flattening the bubbles.

Optional Fruit Flavoring

6

Choose one fruit puree for a flavored mojito (mango, passion fruit, peach, or strawberry). Add 1 oz of the chosen puree to the glass after adding the rum and before adding ice. If using a thicker puree, give an extra gentle stir to incorporate it into the rum/lime/mint mixture.

7

If using passion fruit with seeds and you prefer smoother texture, press the seeds lightly against the glass with the back of a spoon to extract pulp, then discard seeds.

Finish & Garnish

8

Adjust sweetness to taste: if you prefer sweeter, add an additional 1/2 tsp sugar or 1/2 oz simple syrup and stir to combine.

9

Garnish with the reserved lime wheel or wedge and a small sprig of fresh mint placed on top. Serve with a straw and enjoy.
