Chocolate Pate Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

1

Melt the Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

2

Whisk Eggs and Sugar

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is pale and slightly thickened.

3

Combine Mixtures

Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring constantly to avoid cooking the eggs. Add a pinch of sea salt and mix well.

4

Prepare the Mold

Line a loaf pan or suitable mold with plastic wrap, leaving some overhang. Lightly dust the inside with cocoa powder.

5

Pour and Chill

Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared mold. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

6

Serve

Once set, carefully lift the chocolate pate out of the mold using the overhanging plastic wrap. Slice and serve chilled, optionally dusting with additional cocoa powder.
