Method
Cocktail
Combine and shake
Add Ford's Gin (2 oz), Braulio (1/2 oz), fresh grapefruit juice (3/4 oz), fresh lime juice (1/2 oz), vegetal de Chartreuse (1/4 oz) and optional simple syrup (1/4 tsp) into a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup).
Shake
Shake vigorously for about 12–15 seconds, until the shaker is well-chilled and slightly frosted on the outside. This integrates the juices and chills the liqueurs.
Strain and top
Double-strain (using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh) into a chilled Collins or highball glass filled with fresh ice. Top with about 2 oz of soda water, pouring gently to preserve carbonation.
Garnish & Finish
Express the oils of a grapefruit twist over the drink by holding the twist skin-side down and giving it a quick squeeze over the surface. Rub the twist around the rim and drop it into the drink, or hang a thin grapefruit wheel on the glass. If using, slap the thyme or rosemary between your palms to release aromatics and rest the sprig on top as a fragrant garnish.
Serve immediately with a short stir (1–2 gentle turns) to integrate the soda with the base. Recommend tasting and, if needed, add a small dash more simple syrup to taste for balance.
