Ingredients for Loaded Biscuits and Gravy
Method
Directions for Making Loaded Biscuits and Gravy
Make the Biscuits
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the milk until just combined.
Shape and Bake the Biscuits
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to about 1 inch thick and cut into rounds. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Prepare the Gravy
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary, then sprinkle flour over the sausage and stir to combine. Gradually add milk, whisking constantly until thickened.
Season the Gravy
Add black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes to the gravy. Stir well and let simmer for a few minutes.
Serve
Split the warm biscuits in half and ladle the sausage gravy over the top. Enjoy!
