Meatloaf

Method

Preparation

1

Make the Meatloaf

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, milk, egg, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.

2

Shape and Bake

Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan, shape it into a loaf, and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until cooked through.

3

Prepare the Mushroom Gravy

While the meatloaf is baking, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until browned. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir for about 1 minute.

4

Make the Gravy

Slowly add beef broth and soy sauce, whisking constantly. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened. Season with salt and black pepper.

5

Prepare the Green Beans

In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Add trimmed green beans and cook for 5-7 minutes until tender. Drain and toss with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

6

Serve

Slice the meatloaf and serve with mushroom gravy poured over the top and green beans on the side.
