Method

Steak Preparation

1

Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, salt, black pepper, and fresh thyme. Rub the mixture onto the hanger steak and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

2

Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to high heat. Grill the hanger steak for about 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Shallots Preparation

3

Cook the Shallots

In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced shallots and sauté until they are soft and caramelized, about 10-12 minutes. Add the balsamic vinegar and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat.

House Fries Preparation

4

Prepare the Fries

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips. Rinse them in cold water and dry thoroughly with a towel.

5

Fry the Potatoes

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potato strips in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-6 minutes. Remove the fries and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.
