Method
Build & Shake
Combine base spirits
Add Outfitter’s Vodka (2 oz), crème de cassis (1/2 oz), and fresh lemon juice (3/4 oz) to a cocktail shaker.
Adjust sweetness (optional)
If your lemon is particularly tart or you prefer a sweeter cocktail, add 1/4 oz simple syrup. This step is optional; taste after shaking and adjust on subsequent pours if needed.
Ice and shake
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup), secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and frosty.
Finish & Serve
Prepare glass
Fill a highball or Collins glass with fresh ice.
Strain and top
Double-strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass over the ice to remove any small ice shards. Top with 3 oz ginger beer, pouring gently to preserve effervescence. Give the drink one gentle stir (1–2 turns) to combine.
Taste note
The cassis provides a rich blackcurrant backbone that, with the vodka and bright lemon, is lifted by the spicy, effervescent ginger beer. Adjust future pours by increasing cassis for fruitiness or simple syrup for sweetness.
