Shrimp Buster Sandwich
Preparation
1. Prepare the Secret Sauce
In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons ketchup, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, and a dash of hot sauce. Mix well and set aside.
2. Prepare Shrimp
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk. In another bowl, mix the cornmeal and flour. Dip the shrimp in the egg mixture, then coat with the cornmeal mixture.
3. Fry the Shrimp
Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
4. Assemble the Sandwich
On each piece of split French bread, layer lettuce, tomato slices, fried shrimp, and pickles. Drizzle with the secret sauce.
5. Serve
Serve the Shrimp Buster sandwiches with extra secret sauce on the side for dipping.
