Cook the Bacon
In a large pot over medium heat, add the diced bacon. Cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Once cooked, remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the rendered fat in the pot.

Simmer the Chowder
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

Add Clams and Cream
Once the potatoes are cooked, add the chopped clams, heavy cream, and butter to the pot. Stir well and cook for an additional 5 minutes until heated through.

Finish and Garnish
Remove the bay leaf from the chowder. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed. Serve hot, garnished with crispy bacon and chopped fresh parsley.
