Method

Preparing the Salad Base

  1. 1

    Wash and Chop Greens

Rinse the romaine lettuce and spring greens under cold water. Pat them dry with a kitchen towel or use a salad spinner. Chop the romaine into bite-sized pieces and tear the spring greens into manageable pieces. Place them in a large salad bowl.

  2. 2

    Prepare Heirloom Tomato and Avocado

Dice the heirloom tomato and avocado. Add them to the bowl with the greens.

Cooking the Protein

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease, then chop into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 4

    Boil the Eggs

Place the eggs in a pot and cover them with cold water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, cover and remove from heat, letting sit for 10-12 minutes. Transfer to an ice bath to cool, then peel and slice.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked bacon, sliced eggs, and bleu cheese to the salad bowl with the greens, tomatoes, and avocado.

  2. 6

    Add Croutons

Sprinkle the garlic croutons evenly over the salad mixture.

Making the Dressing

  1. 7

    Prepare the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until fully combined.

Final Touches

  1. 8

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle the dressing over the salad just before serving. Toss gently to combine all the ingredients.

  2. 9

    Serve

Divide the salad into individual bowls or plates and serve immediately.
