Method

Burger Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bison Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground bison, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently and form into two equal-sized patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the bison patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of white cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of the burger bun, layer the lettuce, followed by the cooked bison patty with melted cheese, sliced tomato, and the top half of the bun.

Fried Onion Straws Directions

  1. 5

    Soak Onions

Slice the onion into thin rings and soak them in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Breading

In a bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika, and salt.

  3. 7

    Bread the Onions

Drain the onions from the buttermilk and toss them in the flour mixture until well coated.

  4. 8

    Fry the Onions

In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the coated onion rings until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Fries Directions

  1. 9

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and cut the potatoes into thin strips to resemble fries.

  2. 10

    Fry the Potatoes

In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potato strips until golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels, then season with salt.
