Duck Poppers

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Jalapenos

Cut the jalapenos in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes for a milder flavor. If you prefer more heat, leave some seeds in.

  2. 2

    Mix the Cheese Filling

In a bowl, combine the cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until well blended and creamy.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Duck

Shred the smoked duck breast into small pieces and mix it with the cheese filling until evenly distributed.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Stuff the Jalapenos

Spoon the duck and cheese mixture into each jalapeno half, filling them generously.

  2. 5

    Wrap with Bacon

Take a slice of bacon and wrap it around each stuffed jalapeno, securing the bacon ends with a toothpick if necessary.

Cooking

  1. 6

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 350°F or 175°C).

  2. 7

    Grill the Poppers

Place the bacon-wrapped jalapenos on the grill. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the bacon is crispy and the jalapenos are tender.

  3. 8

    Glaze with BBQ Sauce

During the last few minutes of grilling, brush the sweet BBQ sauce over the poppers to caramelize it slightly.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve Hot

Remove the poppers from the grill, let them cool slightly, and serve warm as an appetizer.
