Cake Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

3

Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4

Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Mix until just combined.

5

Prepare Streusel Topping

In a separate bowl, combine 0.5 cups of flour, 0.5 cups of brown sugar, 1 tsp of ground cinnamon, and 0.25 cups of melted butter. Mix until crumbly.

6

Assemble the Cake

Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the streusel topping over the batter. Pour the remaining batter on top and finish with the remaining streusel.

7

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8

Cool and Serve

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve warm with coffee.
