Ingredients for French Toast Bread Pudding

Method

Directions for French Toast Bread Pudding

1

Prepare the Bread Mixture

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the day-old bread into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large mixing bowl.

2

Mix the Custard

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

3

Combine and Soak

Pour the custard mixture over the torn bread and gently mix until all the bread pieces are soaked. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes.

4

Prepare for Baking

Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and transfer the soaked bread mixture into it, spreading it evenly.

5

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden and a knife inserted comes out clean.

6

Make the Cream Cheese Frosting

While the pudding is baking, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar in a bowl until smooth. Add the milk to reach your desired consistency.

7

Serve

Once the bread pudding is done, remove it from the oven, let it cool slightly, and serve warm with the cream cheese frosting drizzled on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon and granulated sugar to taste.
