Method

Preparation

1

Measure and prepare

Gather and measure all ingredients. Peel the banana and break into 2–3 pieces so it blends more easily. If using fresh berries instead of frozen, add 4–6 ice cubes to chill the drink.

Blending

2

Add liquids first

Pour 1 cup cold water and 1 cup almond milk into the blender jar. Adding liquids first helps blades move freely and prevents stalls.

3

Add soft ingredients

Add the peeled banana pieces, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon peanut butter, and 1/4 cup rolled oats to the blender.

4

Add produce

Add 1 cup frozen mixed berries and 1 cup packed fresh spinach on top of the other ingredients. If using protein powder, add the scoop now.

5

Season and sweeten

Add 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Add 1 teaspoon chia seeds if using.

6

Ice and initial pulse

Add 4 ice cubes if you want a thicker, colder texture. Secure the lid and pulse the blender 3–5 times to break up large pieces.

7

Blend until smooth

Blend on high for 45–60 seconds, or until the mixture is completely smooth and no large pieces remain. Stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula if needed, then blend another 10–15 seconds.

8

Adjust consistency

If the smoothie is too thick, add 2–4 tablespoons (30–60 ml) water or milk and blend 5–10 seconds more. If it is too thin, add a few more ice cubes or 1–2 tablespoons oats and re-blend.

Finish and Serve

9

Pour the blended drink into a tall glass. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired (add an extra 1/2 teaspoon honey). Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a few whole berries if you like.

10

Serve immediately. Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours—stir or re-blend briefly before drinking as separation may occur.
