Method

Preparation of Tortilla Chips

  1. 1

    Cut Corn Tortillas

Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into triangle shapes. You can cut them into quarters for smaller chips or sixths for larger chips.

  2. 2

    Heat Oil

In a large, deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of tortilla into it; if it sizzles, the oil is ready.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add a handful of tortilla triangles to the hot oil. Do not overcrowd the pan. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  4. 4

    Season with Salt

While the chips are still hot, sprinkle them with salt to taste. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.

Preparation of Dipping Options

  1. 5

    Serve Dipping Options

In separate bowls, serve your choice of salsa, nacho cheese, melted cheddar cheese, or Halftime Cheese Dip alongside the tortilla chips.
