Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Onions

Slice the large onion into thin rings.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash the lettuce and slice the tomato into thick rounds.

  3. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 4

    Grill the Onions

In the same skillet with bacon drippings, add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. 5

    Cook the Burger Patty

Shape your burger patties from ground beef (not included in the ingredients). Season with salt and pepper, then grill or pan-fry over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.

  3. 6

    Melt the Cheese

In the last minute of cooking the burger, place a slice of Swiss cheese and a slice of American cheese on top of each patty. Cover to allow the cheese to melt.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each Kaiser roll, layer the lettuce, followed by the burger with melted cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, pickles, and a slice of tomato. Top with the other half of the roll.
