Method
Preparation of Filling
- 1
Cook the Meat
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or chicken until browned, approximately 7-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
- 2
Season the Meat
Add salt, black pepper, cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder to the cooked meat. Stir well to combine and let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Assembling the Burritos
- 3
Prepare the Tortillas
Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for about 10-15 seconds until pliable.
- 4
Fill the Tortillas
Lay a warm tortilla flat on a plate. Add a portion of the seasoned meat in the center, top with 2 slices of American cheese, a handful of shredded lettuce, and a sprinkle of black olives.
- 5
Roll the Burrito
Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll from the bottom up tightly. Ensure the filling is enclosed within the tortilla.
- 6
Repeat
Repeat the process for the remaining tortillas and filling.
Serving
- 7
Serve Warm
Cut the burritos in half if desired, and serve warm with your choice of salsa or dipping sauce.
