Using your hands or a potato masher, crush the grapes to release their juice.
3. Add Water and Sugar
Pour the water into the vessel with the crushed grapes. Add the sugar, stirring until it is fully dissolved.
4. Add Yeast
Sprinkle the yeast over the mixture and stir gently to combine. If using Campden tablets, crush and add them now.
5. Cover and Ferment
Cover the vessel with a clean cloth or airlock. Allow the mixture to ferment at room temperature for about 1-2 weeks, stirring daily.
6. Strain and Bottle
After fermentation, strain the liquid through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into clean bottles. Seal the bottles tightly.
7. Aging the Wine
Store the bottles in a cool, dark place to age for at least 3-6 months for optimal flavor before consuming.
