Directions

1

Muddle the Mint and Sugar

In a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush the mint leaves with the sugar. This releases the mint oils and helps to dissolve the sugar. Do not pulverize the mint; just press enough to release the flavors.

2

Add Lime Juice

Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice of both halves into the glass over the muddled mint and sugar. You can also drop one half of the lime into the glass for added flavor. Stir gently to mix the lime juice with the mint and sugar.

3

Add Rum

Pour the white rum into the glass and stir gently to combine all the ingredients.

4

Add Ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes, packing them in with a spoon or your hands to ensure the drink is well chilled.

5

Top with Club Soda

Pour the club soda over the ice, filling the glass to the top. This will give the drink a refreshing fizz.

6

Garnish and Serve

Garnish your mojito with a sprig of fresh mint. You can also add a slice of lime on the rim of the glass for an appealing presentation. Serve immediately with a straw.
