Base Electrolyte Drink (makes about 1 liter)

Finishing & Serving

Method

Base Electrolyte Drink (makes about 1 liter)

1

Heat and dissolve

Pour 300 ml of the water into a small saucepan and warm over medium heat (do not boil). Add the granulated sugar and stir until fully dissolved, about 2–3 minutes. This ensures a smooth syrup so the sugar won’t grain in cold water.

2

Combine salts

In a heatproof pitcher, add the table salt, potassium chloride and (if using) calcium-magnesium powder. Pour the warm sugar syrup from the saucepan into the pitcher and stir to dissolve the salts completely.

3

Add remaining water

Add the remaining 600 ml of cold water to the pitcher and stir until the mixture is uniform. Taste for salinity and sweetness and adjust slightly if desired (see notes).

Flavor & Color (Cool Blue style)

4

Incorporate flavor

While the base is still slightly warm, add the blue sports drink flavoring or powdered blue raspberry mix and stir until fully dissolved. Add the fresh lemon juice and optional natural fruit extract for depth. Stir and let the drink cool to room temperature.

5

Adjust color and flavor

If the color is too light, add small pinch(s) more blue powder or a drop more concentrate. If sweetness or saltiness needs adjustment, add up to 5 g more sugar or a pinch more salt, mixing thoroughly and re-tasting.

Finishing & Serving

6

Chill and serve: Refrigerate the drink until cold (about 30–45 minutes) or serve immediately over ice. Pour into bottles or glasses, garnish with a mint sprig if desired. Shake or stir before serving if any settling occurs.

7

Storage: Store refrigerated in a sealed container for up to 5 days. Shake gently before using.
