French Onion Dip
Method
Preparation
Caramelize the Onions
In a skillet over medium heat, melt a tablespoon of butter. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 20-25 minutes until they are caramelized and golden brown. Remove from heat and let cool.
Mix the Base
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Add Flavorings
Stir in the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the cream cheese mixture. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Combine with Onions
Fold in the cooled caramelized onions into the cream cheese mixture until evenly distributed.
Chill and Serve
Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld. Serve with house-made potato chips and top with sturgeon caviar before serving.
