Turkey and Seasoning

Method

Preparation and Roasting

1

Prepare the Turkey

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.

2

Season the Turkey

In a bowl, mix the softened butter with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary. Rub this mixture all over the turkey, including under the skin.

3

Stuff the Turkey

Place the quartered lemon, onion, carrots, celery, and chopped parsley inside the cavity of the turkey.

4

Roast the Turkey

Place the turkey on a rack in a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for about 13-15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

5

Rest the Turkey

Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 20-30 minutes before carving. This allows the juices to redistribute.
