Draft Ingredients

Method

Brewing Directions

1

Prepare the Mash

In a large pot, heat 500 ml of water to around 70°C (158°F). Add the malted barley and stir well. Let it sit for about 60 minutes to allow the sugars to extract from the grains.

2

Boil the Wort

After the mash, strain the liquid (wort) into another pot. Bring the wort to a boil and add the hops. Continue to boil for 60 minutes, adding more hops at the 30-minute mark if desired for additional bitterness.

3

Cool the Wort

After boiling, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or by placing the pot in an ice bath. The wort should be cooled to around 20°C (68°F).

4

Fermentation

Transfer the cooled wort to a fermentation vessel and add the yeast. Seal the vessel with an airlock and let it ferment at room temperature for about 1-2 weeks.

5

Bottling

Once fermentation is complete, dissolve the priming sugar in a small amount of water and add it to the beer. Bottle the beer and cap each bottle. Let them sit at room temperature for another week to carbonate.

6

Enjoy

Chill the bottles in the fridge and enjoy your homemade draft beer!
