Brewing Process
1. Mashing
Combine the malted barley and corn with hot water in a mash tun. Allow the mixture to sit for about 60 minutes at a temperature of 65-70°C (149-158°F) to convert starches into fermentable sugars.
2. Lautering
After mashing, transfer the mixture to a lauter tun and separate the liquid wort from the grain. Rinse the grains with additional hot water to extract more sugars.
3. Boiling
Bring the wort to a boil and add hops. Boil for 60 minutes to extract flavors and bitterness from the hops.
4. Cooling
After boiling, cool the wort quickly to around 20°C (68°F) using a wort chiller.
5. Fermentation
Transfer the cooled wort to a fermentation vessel and add yeast. Seal the vessel and allow it to ferment for 1-2 weeks at around 18-22°C (64-72°F).
6. Bottling
Once fermentation is complete, transfer the beer to bottles or kegs. Optionally, add priming sugar for carbonation.
7. Conditioning
Let the bottled beer condition for an additional 1-2 weeks to develop flavor and carbonation.
8. Enjoy
Chill the beer and enjoy it cold.
