Preparation

Classic Cocktails

1. Martini

Chill a martini glass in the freezer or fill with ice water while you prepare. Fill a mixing glass with 6 ice cubes. Add 2 oz gin and 1 oz dry vermouth. Stir for 30 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted. Dump the ice from the glass, strain the cocktail into the chilled martini glass. Express a lemon twist over the drink, run it around the rim and drop it in as garnish.

Sours & Citrus

2. Whiskey Sour

If using egg white, do a dry shake first: add 2 oz bourbon, 0.75 oz lemon juice, 0.75 oz simple syrup and 1/2 egg white to a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously without ice for about 15 seconds. Add 6 ice cubes and shake again for 10–15 seconds until chilled and frothy. Double strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Add 2 dashes Angostura bitters on the foam and gently swirl with a toothpick to create a pattern. If skipping egg white, combine ingredients with ice and shake once, then strain over ice.

Tropical & Tiki

3. Mai Tai-style Cocktail

Fill a shaker with crushed ice. Add 1.5 oz white rum, 0.75 oz lime juice, 1.5 oz pineapple juice and 0.5 oz orgeat. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Pour into a chilled double old-fashioned glass filled with crushed ice. Carefully float 0.5 oz dark rum on top by pouring over the back of a spoon. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig and an optional pineapple wedge. Serve with a straw.

Highballs & Long Drinks

4. Paloma (vodka variation)

Fill a highball glass with 6 ice cubes. Add 2 oz vodka and 3 oz fresh grapefruit juice. Stir briefly to combine. Top with 2 oz club soda and give a gentle stir to integrate. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.

Aperitifs & Digestifs

5. Campari Spritz

Fill a rocks or wine glass with 4 ice cubes. Add 1 oz Campari and 1 oz sweet vermouth. Top with 1 oz soda water if desired for a lighter spritz. Stir once to combine. Garnish with an orange slice and serve.
