Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Combine and Shake

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice (about 3/4 full). Add 2 oz Midwest gin, 1 oz pomegranate juice, 0.5 oz hibiscus syrup, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.

  2. 2

    Prepare Glass

Fill a Collins or highball glass with fresh ice (crushed or cubed) to the top.

  3. 3

    Strain and Top

Double-strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass over ice to remove small ice shards and any pulp. Gently top with 2 oz chilled club soda. Stir once or twice gently with a bar spoon to integrate.

  4. 4

    Garnish

Float 1 tsp pomegranate arils on top and add a dried hibiscus petal or a lime wheel on the rim for visual contrast. If desired, express a lime peel over the drink before dropping it in for extra aromatics.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve immediately while fizzy and cold. Sip and enjoy the balance of floral hibiscus, tart pomegranate, bright lime, and the botanical backbone of the Midwest gin.
