Cocktail

Method

Prep

  1. 1

    Optional rim

If you want a salted or sugared rim, rub a lime wedge around the glass rim, then dip the rim lightly into coarse salt or superfine sugar placed on a small plate. Set the glass aside to let the rim adhere.

  2. 2

    Chill glass

Place the serving glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill with ice and water while you mix the cocktail to cool it down. Discard cooling ice/water before pouring.

Mixing

  1. 3

Add 2 oz Cimarron blanco tequila, 2 oz fresh cranberry juice, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and 0.25 oz orange liqueur (if using) into a cocktail shaker.

  2. 4

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) and secure the lid.

  3. 5

Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is well chilled (this dilutes and chills the drink properly).

Serve & Garnish

  1. 6

If serving on the rocks: add 0.5 cup fresh ice to the chilled glass. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over the ice. If serving neat: double-strain into the chilled glass without ice.

  2. 7

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and, if desired, skewer 2–3 fresh cranberries and lay them across the glass or drop them in.

  3. 8

    Serve immediately.
