Cocktail

Method

Cocktail Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine ingredients

Add Ketel Citroen vodka (2 oz), crème de violette (0.5 oz), fresh lemon juice (0.75 oz), simple syrup (0.25 oz) and egg white (0.5 oz, optional) into a cocktail shaker.

  2. 2

    Dry shake

Seal the shaker and shake vigorously without ice for 10–15 seconds. This aerates the egg white and helps build a silky foam (skip dry shake if not using egg white).

  3. 3

    Wet shake

Open the shaker, add ice (about 6 large cubes), reseal and shake hard for 12–15 seconds until the exterior of the shaker is very cold and slightly frosty.

  4. 4

    Strain

Double-strain the cocktail through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled coupe or martini glass to remove ice shards and ensure a smooth texture.

Garnish & Finish

  1. 5

Carefully place a single edible bachelor button flower in the center of the foam. If using, express a lemon twist over the drink to spray oils, then discard or rest the twist on the rim. Serve immediately.
