Method

Prepare glass

1

Rim the glass

Run the grapefruit wedge or a cut lime around the outer rim of a highball or Collins glass. Dip the rim into coarse salt or Tajín until evenly coated. Set the glass aside.

Mix cocktail

2

Fill a shaker or mixing glass halfway with ice.

3

Add 2 oz reposado tequila, 2 oz fresh grapefruit juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz agave syrup to the shaker.

4

Shake vigorously for about 10–12 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.

5

Fill the rimmed highball glass with fresh ice (cubed). Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass over the ice.

6

Top with about 2 oz club soda and gently stir once or twice to combine.

Garnish & Serve

7

Garnish with a grapefruit wedge and a lime wheel on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw if desired.

8

Adjust sweetness or acidity to taste: if you prefer sweeter, add another 0.25 oz agave; if tarter, add a splash more lime juice.
