Prep

1

Chill and gather

Chill the vodka, iced tea, and seltzer in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes ahead of time if possible. Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice cubes (about 1 cup).

Assemble

2

Pour 2 oz vodka over the ice in the chilled glass.

3

Add 8 oz chilled lemon iced tea to the glass, pouring gently to avoid overflow.

4

If you want a touch of sweetness, stir in 1/2 tablespoon simple syrup now and gently mix.

5

Top with 2 oz chilled club soda or seltzer to add effervescence. Pour slowly so the drink layers nicely.

6

Squeeze the fresh lemon wedge over the drink to release juice, then drop the wedge into the glass as garnish.

7

Garnish optionally with a mint sprig slapped between your palms to release aroma, then rested on the rim.

Serve

8

Give the drink one gentle stir to combine the layers and serve immediately with a straw or long spoon.

9

Adjust to taste: add more seltzer to lighten, more iced tea for stronger tea flavor, or additional simple syrup if you prefer sweeter.
