Mojito Cocktail

Method

Mojito Cocktail

1

Prepare glass and muddle

Place the fresh mint leaves (reserve one small sprig for garnish) and granulated sugar into a sturdy highball glass. Pour in the fresh lime juice. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently muddle the mint and sugar with the lime juice for about 10–15 seconds—press just enough to release the mint’s oils without shredding the leaves to avoid bitterness.

2

Add rum and ice

Add the Bacardi Carta Blanca (2 oz) into the glass. Fill the glass with crushed ice up to about 3/4 full (approximately 1 cup crushed ice). Stir gently with a long spoon for 10–15 seconds to dissolve remaining sugar and chill the mixture.

3

Top with soda and finish

Top the drink with chilled club soda (about 2 oz) to your taste. Give a gentle final stir to combine soda with the rum-lime-mint base without flattening the bubbles.

4

Garnish and serve

Add the reserved mint sprig and a lime wedge or wheel on the rim. Optionally clap the mint sprig between your palms once before garnishing to release aroma. Serve immediately with a reusable straw if desired.
