Method
Biscuits
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Cut in Butter
Add the cold unsalted butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4
Add Milk
Pour in the milk and stir gently with a wooden spoon until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 5
Shape the Dough
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it 2-3 times. Pat the dough to about 1-inch thickness.
- 6
Cut Biscuits
Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, close together but not touching.
- 7
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
Classic Preserves
- 8
Serve
After the biscuits are baked and slightly cooled, serve them warm with strawberry preserves on the side.
Whipped Butter
- 9
Whip the Butter
In a bowl, beat the unsalted butter with an electric mixer until creamy and fluffy.
- 10
Add Ingredients
Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until fully incorporated.
- 11
Serve
Transfer whipped butter to a serving dish and serve alongside the biscuits.
Strawberry Butter
- 12
Mix Strawberry Butter
In a bowl, combine unsalted butter and strawberry preserves. Mix until well combined and creamy.
- 13
Serve
Spoon the strawberry butter into a serving dish and serve it with the biscuits.
