Shortcake and Topping

Method

Preparation

1

Make the Shortcake

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Gradually add the heavy cream, stirring until just combined. Fold in the flour mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.

2

Bake the Shortcake

Transfer the mixture to a greased 9-inch round cake pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

3

Prepare the Plums

While the shortcake is cooling, combine the sliced plums, honey, and Lillet Blanc in a bowl. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes to enhance the flavors.

4

Serve

Once the shortcake has cooled, slice it into wedges and serve topped with the marinated plums and a drizzle of the green tea. Enjoy your Plum Shortcake!
